Hot damn!

by Mr. OldWorldVulture on Jul.07, 2010, under Updates

Since updates have been few and far between lately, we thought we’d take the time on this blazing-hot Saturday eve in Toronto to fill you in on the days of future past.

First and foremost, we played our first NXNE this past month. For those that happened to make it out to our (very) early set, thanks for being the troopers that you are. In case you missed it, a couple of reviews managed to sneak their way on to the interwebs (here and here) along with a video:

In other news, the reviews of our EP continue to trickle in. Here are some excerpts and links from the latest:

There’s no carbo-loading here. Instead, these noisemakers blend prominent, dream-like synth – perhaps their calling card – with droning guitars, thunder-crashing cymbals and a dash of electronic glitchery for good measure.sharpformen.com

the band has a way with soaring melody lines that will stand it in good stead when soundtrack producers come calling.thesilentballet.com

We’re shooting a video for “Too Much Eye Makeup” next month, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

There’s also been some talks about putting out a split 7-inch of new material this fall. But that’s all the beans we can spill at this point. We’re full of them.

We’re also heading back into the studio this September to begin work on our full-length.

Finally, if you’re in Toronto the week of July 11th, we’re playing a couple of solid, solid shows that week:
Tuesday, July 13th at The Tranzac
Saturday, July 17th at El Mocambo

And don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, which is the best way to keep in touch: twitter.com/oldworldvulture

Carry on,
OWV
